Early Access Content Patch 01

The first major content patch for the Early Access version of Killing Floor 2 is now live. This includes:

  • New map - Volter Manor
  • Collectible items added to existing maps
  • 8 new Steam Achievements
  • Bug fixes and balance tweaks
  • And, as a very special extra, all owners of KF1 will now get the "classic" Briar and Masterson characters, with the original voice actors!

Killing Floor 2: Incinerate 'N Detonate Release Trailer

Adding more than 50% more content to the game, available now players will be able to further explore the horrific world of KILLING FLOOR 2 with brand new content and features including the following:

  • 2 New Perks – Firebug and Demolitions, each with new weapons and grenades
  • 2 New Maps – Evacuation Point and Catacombs
  • New Weapons – More arsenal to destroy Zeds with such as the Dual 9mm Pistols
  • Crossover Promotions:
  • NVIDIA PhysX Flex Technology – Featured for the first time ever in a game, KILLING FLOOR 2 incorporates this ground-breaking new technology (for NVIDIA GeForce 770’s and above cards)
  • Berserker Skill Tree – Complete overhaul revamps the Berserker skill tree to a whole new level
  • After Action Report – New system adding Team Awards, Personal Stats and Map Voting
    • Map Voting allows players to vote on the next map, winning map travels to server after
    • Kick Voting allows players to vote kick a player from the map
  • New Achievements
  • Zed Hit Zones – Allows Areas on the Zeds to have different hit effects and vulnerabilities based on different zones
  • New Steam Workshop functionality (this is an item submission workshop, a full mod workshop is still being worked on)

The brand new Return of the Patriarch Content Pack for KILLING FLOOR 2 includes the following:

General

  • Third person character animations should now look better when characters are looking about and aiming
  • Headshots now impart force on the ragdoll from the direction of the blow
  • All Zed attacks impart some force to players
  • Removed recoil kick when jumping and firing (does not affect boomstick jumping)
  • New Crate and USB opening animations and rarity sound fx
  • Weapon Skin Icons have been re-worked
  • Players can now equip weapon skins directly from the new item UI
  • Depth of Field has been added to the gear menu
  • New 9mm sounds
  • Revised gamepad controls
  • Adding alternative gamepad control presets (Default - 0, Quick Draw - 1 , Jumper - 2, Southpaw - 3: not named ingame yet)
  • UI: Kill messages for zed kills on the HUD (Default is off, see gameplay options)
  • Players will now drop their best weapon on death if the weapon they have out cannot be dropped
  • Zed time post process effect has been tuned to avoid bloom getting blown out in some lighting scenarios
  • Flashlight brightness has been tuned
  • Items purchased from the ZedConomy Store are now tradeable, but not marketable.
  • Welder removed from the weapon selection menu - now only available from the prompt to bring up welder at door - This should allow players to select the healer more reliably
  • General optimization pass, some users may notice performance gains

Balance

  • Increased speed of AA12 elite reloads
  • Decreased cost of AA12 (1700 > 1500)
  • Increased speed of equip and putaway for welder
  • Increased speed of equip and putaway for healer by 2x
  • Speed of healing others and yourself has been increased
  • Increased speed of equip and putaway of all weapons by 60%
  • Fleshpound will no longer perma-rage, and Scrake will no longer insta-rage when they are among the last few remaining Zeds

Bugs

  • Possible fix for “Phantom Projectiles” issue with projectile weapons
  • Fixed some issues with the Husk sprinting animations
  • Fixed some spectating UI issues
  • Fixed rubberbanding/jittering when grabbed by Zeds & Patriarch tentacle
  • Fixed an issue with using HOLD iron sights keeping you in ironsights after letting go
  • Fixed Berserker attack speed UI display
  • Possible fix for trader not filling ammo when you only need a few bullets
  • Fixed an issue where you could stand on top of dosh bling
  • Fixed some issues with FLEX on KF-VolterManor
  • Fixed some pathing issues in the Birthday room of KF-Bioticslab
  • Fixed some issues with rarity and conditions of weapon skins
  • Fixed an issue where Rack Em’ Up UI would persist after death or perk swap
  • Fixed an issue where you couldn’t break zed limbs in real time

Known Issues

  • You cannot parry player controlled zeds in Versus
  • May be some clipping issues with some of the new cosmetics
  • May be some pathing issues with KF-Prison

SDK/Mod Workshop

  • Added support for .int and .ini to the manual upload tool (GUI upload support will follow at a later date)

Special note on FLEX We feel we are close to returning FLEX functionality to the game. We are keeping a close eye on performance and crashes related to it. We have turned FLEX off completely for this build as in the process of fully testing a new build of this functionality and it was not ready for this release.

Special note on Versus Survival Our internal testing focused mostly on human teams around the same level (1’s, 12’s and 25’s)

SWAT

  • MP7 SMG
    • Damage reduced to 16 (was 20)
    • Mag size decreased to 30 (was 40)
    • Ammo cost per mag reduced to 16 (was 26)
  • MP5RAS SMG
    • Damage increased to 25 (was 22)
    • Mag size increased to 40 (was 30)
    • Ammo cost increased to 33 (was 22)
    • Total ammo reduced to 360 (was 390)

Swat Perk changes

  • Removed Dosh assist bonus. This is not needed anymore due to the passive damag bonus now working.
  • Close Combat Training skill - Changed damage increase to 110% to match Commando’ Fallback skill.

    • Reload speed increased to 0.8 (was 2.0)
    • Elite reload speed increased to 0.57 (was 1.4)

  • Siren
    • More vulnerable to damage from following weapon types
    • Sub Machine Gun increased to 1.0 (was 0.75)
    • Assault Rifle increased to 1.0 (was 0.75)
    • Handgun increased to 1.0 (was 0.7)
    • Rifle increased to 1.0 (was 0.75)
    • Slashing increased to 1.0 (was 0.75)
    • Blunt increased to 1.0 (was 0.85)

    • Max Scream Range decreased to 900 (was 920)
    • Scream Damage Frequency decreased to 0.5 (was 1.0) how often scream damage happens
    • Scream Damage decreased to 15 (was 18)
    • Scream Animation speed increased by 60%.
    • Scream Protective Shield time increased to 2.2 seconds (was 1 second)

The goal is to make the siren more of a glass cannon so she's go down quicker now and scream a little less often but the damage from the scream is higher.

  • Bloat
    • In suicidal, if bloat explodes 3 bloat mines spawn (was 2).
  • Hans
    • Evade speed reduced 15%
    • Frenzy attack damage reduced 30%
  • Special Crawler
    • Special crawlers will now not explode upon death if a player manages to blow their head off first

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a server side issue where when a Field Medic player joined a server it would result in all players being disconnected.
  • Fixed issue where voice comms radial menu would get stuck on the Boss intro.
  • Fixed Issue where boss intro lacked any depth of field effect.
  • Fixed bug where Boss name plate UI would occasionally show up during Defeat screen.
  • Fixed issue where party leader would get sent to a different server than the rest of party members during matchmaking.
  • Fixed Issue where Weapon Quick Select toggle would be reset upon map travel.
  • Fixed Commando and SWAT skill percentages for skills that grant damage bonus with 9mm and knife to listed description values of 110%
  • Demolitionist - Fragmentation Rounds skill now correctly adjust damage values to 70% of base damage.
  • Fixed Hide Boss Health bar setting from not being able to be changed in the middle of a boss wave.
  • Fixed death messages to change depending on the Zed that killed you (i.e. not all messages state “Eaten Alive”).
  • Fixed issue if you changed perks in the trader menu after that game was over you would revert back to the perk prior to your change.
  • Fixed issue where trader would not display the right amount of ammo for the M16 M203 Grenade rounds during initial purchase.
  • Fixed issue where characters would revert their customization to default after restarting the game.
  • Firebug Napalm skill - Changed how this skill works to make it more useful in game so that Zeds will more consistently catch fire while bumping into each other.
  • Fixed missing configure controller UI label within perk menu.
  • Fixed issue where last player slot in party was not selectable on browse server menu for party invites,
  • Fixed issue where players using controllers were able to highlight multiple perks within the lobby menu
  • Fixed issue where accepting an invite when the game is not running would not put you into the squad menu in game.
  • Adjusted Versus Crawler’s normal jump attack to be far less difficult to use in game.
  • Fixed issue in Versus where Slasher could evade in mid-air allowing them to dramatically increase their jump range.
  • Fixed issue where headshot count on the results screen was not consistent with the weapon wise breakup.
  • Fixed issue where players could not melee while running with an empty equipped weapon.
  • Fixed issue with the Boss Defeat camera not being properly adjusted and moved.
  • Improved error logging when the server shuts down because a map in the map vote menu is not within the server admin’s local files or is improperly set up within their PCServer-KFGame.ini config files.
  • Improved Matchmaking Menu UI so that elements would not overlap with each other.
  • Fixed issue where player could navigate menus with the Connection Lost Pop Up message still displayed.
  • Fixed incorrect perk icon display issues within the Versus lobby menu.
  • Fixed issue where Fleshpound rage grinder sound effect would get caught in a continuous loop
