General Information
The Slasher is a moderately quick specimen that approaches the player and tries to grab hold, immobilizing him/her. It has low health and is considered to be of low threat to players, although their speed relative to the others in its same family (the clot and the cyst) makes it the most difficult of the group. This combined with odd head movements at times and the ability to occasionally sprint toward the player make this low threat zed one that needs to be dealt with quickly or else risk getting overrun by other zeds.

Behavior and Extermination Tactics
Extermination Tactics
- Slashers are low threat enemies, but are more dangerous than the other Clot variants due to their higher speed and damage. Getting surrounded by Slashers can result in a huge amount of damage being taken.
- They can be dispatched with a single headshot from any weapon (except the 9mm Pistol when not used by a Gunslinger with Bone Breaker skill, or a Commando with the Backup skill.)
- On early waves, ammunition can be saved by switching to the Knife as a single swing can decapitate a Slasher when aimed at the neck or the head.
Being cannon fodder, just about any form of weaponry will take them out very quickly.
Ammunition can be saved in early waves by switching to the knife and cutting their heads off.
In later waves, Slashers are there to populate the waves and distract players from larger threats. Try to take them out quickly so you can focus on the real threats sooner.
However, on Suicidal and Hell on Earth, one has to respect the damage output of Slashers, especially when they spawn in a huge group of 6 and more, which they often do in later waves. They can quickly surround and tear apart unprepared players and leave them close to death for other Zeds to finish the kill.
Extremely weak to Sub-machine guns, making the SWAT the best perk for quickly exterminating huge groups of Slashers.
Beware of their grabs, as Slashers can end games by catching the last surviving player off-guard and immobilizing them, giving the larger enemies enough time to catch up and kill them. With their high speed and aggression, they are more likely to do this than the other Clot variants.
- On higher difficulties, groups of Slashers become high threat targets that should be dealt with before they close the distance, as they are extremely dangerous when enraged. They are capable of doing a surprisingly high amount of damage when ignored.
Gallery
- When enraged, they sprint with a hunched over gait and swing their heads wildly, making headshots difficult, when in range with a player, they will start swinging their hands and slash the player multiple times with their claws, causing large amount of damage if the player ignored them or did not act quickly
- Once they get into range while sprinting, they will either leap at players (with their arms covering their face) or perform a combat dodge roll.
The Slasher

The Slasher is a common specimen in Killing Floor 2. It is classified as a lesser enemy, and therefore, cannon fodder. Although extremely weak on their own, their real strength comes in numbers. However, Slashers are more agile, aggressive and unpredictable than the other Clot variants.

Base Statistics

Normal Hard Suicidal Hell on earth
Kill Reward 7 7 7 7
XP 8 11 11 11
Health (body) 75 100 100 100
Health (head) 15 20 20 20

For kill reward calculations read Dosh Mechanics.

Attacks

Grab attack (odds, instead of regular attack) 0.38
Melee (damage multipliers vs. doors) 1/4
Melee (damage multipliers vs. players) 0.2/0.4/0.5/1
Melee (damage) 6
Melee (range) 172

The base damage value further modified by the difficulty-specific multipliers.

XP Notes

 • Killing with weapons other than your current perk grants the XP to the perk that weapons belongs to.
 • Damaging with on-perk weapons and then finishing it off with an off-perk weapon divides the XP and grants it to both perks.
 • Assist kills grants full XP.

Speed

Slashers move slowly when docile, and sprint when enraged.
On higher difficulties, Slashers have a chance to enrage upon sighting a Player, and have a chance to enrage when shot.
Once enraged, Slashers will never stop sprinting until they are killed.
Movement speed is randomized within ± 10% range and further modified by a multiplier based on difficulty.

Walking speed (per difficulty) (270 - 330) x (0.9 / 0.95 / 0.95 / 0.95) x (1 / 1 / 1.2 / 1.3)
Running speed (per difficulty) (450 - 550) x (0.9 / 0.95 / 0.95 / 0.95) x (1 / 1 / 1.2 / 1.3)
Hidden speed 600
Sprint chance Normal - 0 / Hard - 0 / Suicidal - 0.85 / HOE - 0.95
Sprint chance (when damaged) Normal - 0 / Hard - 1 / Suicidal - 1 / HOE - 1

1 unit = 1 centimeter.

For comparison, by default a healthy player character with the minimal weight walks at speed of 383 units/s, and sprints at speed of 460 units/s.

Sprint Conditions

Should sprint if can sprint OR (if can sprint when damaged AND damaged) (i.e. if sprint chance met its value). Should sprint when frustrated.

Extermination Tactics
