The Siren in Killing Floor 2

General Siren Information

The Siren is a slow but deadly zed capable of ranged damage and very close melee attacks. When in range, it unleashes a bone chilling screech that damages and visually disorients all players within the range of its attack. The Siren's scream ignores player armor and will destroy any grenade that has not gone off when it screams. She is considered to be of severe threat to players due to its high damage output, large area of effect attack, armor piercing, and grenade destruction. Sirens are priority targets in almost all situations and should be handled immediately. The damage of multiple Sirens will stack upon each other.

Multiplayer Scaling

- Sirens have their health value scaled accordingly to the number of players in the game.
- The Siren's base body health is 172 on Normal, 230 on Hard, 310 on Suicidal, and 356 on Hell on Earth.
- The Siren's base head health is 116 on Normal, 155 on Hard, 178 on Suicidal, and 193 on Hell on Earth.
- These values are increased for every additional living player in the game, meaning the health values are determined by the number of players that are alive when they are spawned.

Notes on XP

  • XP rewarded for your on-perk weapons.
  • Killing with weapons other than your current perk grants the XP to the perk that weapons belongs to.
  • Damaging with on-perk weapons and then finishing it off with an off-perk weapon divides the XP and grants it to both perks.
  • Damaging with off-perk weapons and then finishing it off with an on-perk weapon divides the XP and grants it to both perks.
  • Assist kills grants full XP.
  • The Katana currently does not grant XP towards any perk.
  • The bash attack (default v) does not count as Berserker damage for Berserker XP, meaning it grants the XP to your current perk.

Speed

- Sirens never sprint, they are only able to walk.
- Movement speed is randomized, but is skewed towards higher values as difficulty increases.
- Movement speed is set to maximum at all times on Hell on Earth difficulty.

Normal Hard Suicidal Hell on earth
Speed (Walking) 180 - 220 180 - 220 180 - 220 180 - 220
Speed (Enraged) 180 - 220 180 - 220 180 - 220 180 - 220
Chance to Rage on Sight 0% 0% 0% 0%
Chance to Rage when Shot 0% 0% 5% 10%
  • For comparison, a healthy player character with minimal weight walks at a speed of 383, and sprints at a speed of 460.
  • These values are increased by 1% per level for Berserkers, Gunslingers and Medics.

The Siren

Resistances

- Sirens have no reistances, but one crippling weakness to explosives.
- However, Sirens compensate for this weakness with their scream. Their screams destroy explosives and grenades in a radius around her.

Damage Taken Multipler 100% 100% 100% 100% 100% 100% 100% 200% 100%

- Sirens have 2 weak spots, which are the head and the neck.
- Sirens wear a metallic plating over their bodies, which reduces the damage when they are shot in the chest and hips, acting as a crude bullet-proof vest.
- Note that damaging them in the neck is not the same as damaging the head; Damaging the neck will subtract from the body health, not the head health.

Behavior and Extermination Tactics

- Sirens, while slow, are capable of doing massive area of effect damage. Their scream is extremely potent and lets out a visible distortion field, which indicates the range of their scream.
- Do not throw grenades at Sirens as they will just scream and destroy them. Kill Sirens from a distance before throwing any grenades.
- Level 14 and below Demolitionists without the "Siren Resistance" skill should be extra careful around Sirens as their screams destroy explosives. This includes C4 that has been placed on the ground in advance. When using their projectile weapons, time your shots inbetween screams.
- Gunslingers and Commandos have high powered, long range ballistic weapons that can take out a Siren from long range with headshots before they can do any damage. Therefore, they are the most suited for exterminating Sirens and should do so on any given opportunity.
Demolitionists can eliminate Sirens the quickest, but caution must be exercised when shooting at Sirens without the Siren Resistance skill.
- Supports, Firebugs and Berserkers are capable of killing Sirens very quickly with their high tier weapons at close range. Berserkers can kill Sirens in a single explosive shell with the Pulverizer, while Supports can reliably decapitate Sirens with a well-placed shot from the Double-barreled Boomstick. However, it is risky to do so as the damage of their scream is greatly increased the closer you are to her.
- On higher difficulties, Sirens don't gain any additional abilities. Instead, the damage of their scream is increased as difficulty increases. They remain high damage threats that must be destroyed before they close the distance.
