The Double-Barrel Boomstick is one of the Support's second tier weapons.
Description
- Primary fire uses a single barrel only.
- Alt-fire shoots both barrels at once.
- Double-barrelled, side-by-side 12-gauge shotgun. Ideal for close-range combat. Even the biggest zeds will stagger!
Note: Significant kick. Will knock you backwards when fired, (or upwards if aiming down and jumping)!
Pros:
- Cheap at 650
- Lightweight at 4
- Very powerfull spike damage
Cons:
- Inefficient against smaller zeds
- Low pick-up rate only 4 shells per box
- Low sustained damage due to being break action.
Strategy
Double-Barrel is a powerful tool in support specialist's arsenal. Sporting great 300 base damage if all 12 pellets hit. With this weapon you can efficiently kite a Fleshpound. When fleshpound is about to hit you move backwards jump and press alt-fire, recoil from the gun will push you out of the hit range and you will escape unscratched while dealing significant damage to Fleshpound. Double-Barrelled Boomstick also has enough damage to kill Husk or Siren with a double-shot. This is a risky strategy since you need to get close to execute it.
Perk Talents interactions
- Lvl 5 Ammo: Increases reserve ammo from 46 to 54. Extra 8 Shells, more ammo = more dead zeds.
- Lvl 15 Tactical Reload: 20% faster reload. Great benefit for this weapons since you are constantly reloading.
- Lvl 20 Strength: Increases carry capacity by 5. Double-Barrel is light at 4 blocks so you can grab AA-12 and SG 500 Pump-Action to have a great arsenal.
- Lvl 20 Tenacity: Your perk weapons deal 10% more damage. Double-Barrel already deals impressive damage and this improves it even further.
