Values listed in brackets are for alternate (secondary) fire.

The claymore is a high-power melee weapon dealing the second highest damage (per swing and per second) of any melee weapon, and costs slightly more than the chainsaw and katana.

While it weighs twice as much as the katana and costs a little more, it does significantly more damage per swing. However, it has a much lower swing speed.

As with all melee weapons it has the ability to back-stab for double damage, to which the head multiplier is then applied.

As of patch 1040 the claymore can now damage multiple enemies in a single swing.

Strategy

  • It is especially important that you are accurate with your swings, since the swing speed is the lowest of all melee weapons. Every swing counts.
  • Use the secondary fire as often as possible if your target requires it, since the swing speed is only a little slower than primary fire.
