Values listed in brackets are for alternate (secondary) fire.

The AA12 is arguably the most powerful shotgun in the game. It has good damage, has a rate of fire that ties with the combat shotgun as the fastest of the shotguns. Additionally, it reloads using a magazine instead of individual shells. This all comes at a cost - literally - it is the most expensive shotgun, and one of the most expensive of any weapon. Most players will only be able to afford this weapon with the help from the Support Specialist's shotgun price reduction.

Alt-fire is used to toggle between semi-automatic and automatic firing modes.

Strategy

  • Due to its high damage output, it is most appropriately used in panic situations or to finish off the tougher enemies. A full magazine (which can be fired off in about 4 seconds) can potentially deal 3000 damage if all pellets hit the target, and even more if some hit the head.
  • Since it has a reload time of approximately 3 seconds it is recommended that you reload as often as possible and avoid a low magazine.
  • Try to avoid using over long ranges, since the spread makes it ineffectual at anything beyond medium range. Getting head shots with the 9mm will likely do more damage than a single pellet.
