The new Clot

General Information

The Clot is a slow moving zed that approaches the player and attempts to grab hold, immobilizing him/her and has the ability to randomly sprint toward the player. The Clot is considered to be of low threat to the player due to his generally slow movement speed, light damage, and small health pool. Engage at convenience.

Notes on XP

  • XP rewarded for your on-perk weapons.
  • Killing with weapons other than your current perk grants the XP to the perk that weapons belongs to.
  • Damaging with on-perk weapons and then finishing it off with an off-perk weapon divides the XP and grants it to both perks.
  • Damaging with off-perk weapons and then finishing it off with an on-perk weapon divides the XP and grants it to both perks.
  • Assist kills grants full XP.
  • The Katana currently does not grant XP towards any perk.
  • The bash attack (default v) does not count as Berserker damage for Berserker XP, meaning it grants the XP to your current perk.

Speed

- Clots move slowly when docile, and sprint when enraged.
- On higher difficulties, Clots have a chance to enrage upon sighting a Player, and have a chance to enrage when shot.
- Once enraged, Clots will never stop sprinting until they are killed.
- Movement speed is randomized, but is skewed towards higher values as difficulty increases.
- Movement speed is set to maximum at all times on Hell on Earth difficulty.

Normal Hard Suicidal Hell on earth

  • These values are increased by 1% per level for Berserkers, Gunslingers and Medics.

Behavior and Extermination Tactics

- Clots are cannon fodder whose role is to distract you from the larger enemies. They can be killed quickly by any higher tier weapon as they have low health.
- They can be dispatched with a single headshot from any weapon (except the 9mm Pistol when not used by a Gunslinger with Bone Breaker skill, or a Commando with the Backup skill.)
- On early waves, ammunition can be saved by switching to the Knife as a single swing can decapitate a Clot when aimed at the neck or the head.

- When enraged, Clots gain access to new attacking animations. Clots can leap at a player while sprinting, and scratch with both hands at once.
- On higher difficulties, Clots should be dealt with before they close the distance as being surrounded by raging Clots can be fatal when larger Zeds are around.
