Height and size standards in Red Orchestra Stalingrad

For reasons of consistency and production, RO:S will use standard defined heights and dimensions for a lot of objects found in it's world. You will find the most common objects listed here.

Units and Scale

Unreal and real world scale

In the Red Orchestra Stalingrad world 1 unreal unit (UU) = 2 centimeter.

This is exactly the same as in the default Unreal editor.

Unreal and the metric system

Unreal units to centimeters
1 UU = 2 cm
8 UU = 16 cm
16 UU = 32 cm
32 UU = 64 cm
64 UU = 128 cm
128 UU = 256 cm
256 UU = 512 cm
512 UU = 1024 cm
1024 UU = 2048 cm
Centimeters to unreal units
1 cm = 0.5 UU
10 cm = 5 UU
100 cm = 1 m = 50 UU
1000 cm = 10 m = 500 UU
10000 cm = 100 m = 5000 UU
100000 cm = 1 km = 50000 UU

Unreal and the Imperial (US) system

Unreal units to inches and feet
1 UU = 0.7874 inches
8 UU = 6 inches = 0.5 foot
16 UU = 1'1 (roughly)
32 UU = 2'2 (roughly)
64 UU = 4'3 (roughly)
128 UU = 8'5 (roughly)
256 UU = 16'10( roughly) = 5 to 6 yards
512 UU = 33'8 (roughly) = 11 yards
1024 UU = 67'3 (roughly) = 22 yards
Imperial units to unreal units
1 inch = 1.27 UU
1 foot = 15.24 UU
1 yard = 45 UU
1 mile = 580467 UU

3dsMax metric to Generic units/ UU system

3dsMax objects created using the metric system need to be scaled by 127% to match the object to the unreal scale system.
